NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The University of Dayton softball team was bested by host Lipscomb (4-1) and Southeast Missouri (10-6) Saturday evening in action at the Purple & Gold Challenge. This weekend's games are being played at Lipscomb's Draper Diamond.
Dayton moved to 3-11 after its games Saturday while Lipscomb enters Sunday's schedule with a 6-12 overall mark and Southeast Missouri is now 9-6 on the season.
GAME ONE
Lipscomb 4, Dayton 1

Sarah Bailitz recorded five strikeouts in 3.0 innings of relief to close out the game in the circle for the Flyers

Alyssa Cacini sent two balls over the fence, the third time in her career she has hit two home runs in one game, and collected a career-high-tying four RBI in her 2-for-4 outing at the plate
Winning Pitcher: Rook (6-3) - 7.0 IP, 6 ER, 8 K, 3 BB
Losing Pitcher:
Kelsey Gumm (0-4) - 4.1 IP, 1 ER, 3 K, 2 BB
