NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The University of Dayton softball team closed out the weekend with a 1-0 win over College of Charleston at the Purple & Gold Challenge hosted by Lipscomb.

Dayton moves to 4-11 on the season while Charleston is now 5-15 overall.

• 1 - junior Katie Reeg collected one RBI on her fourth-inning double that scored Alyssa Cacini for the game-winning run
• 2 - junior Emily Daniel was a perfect 2-for-2 at the plate, batting two singles for the Flyers
• 7 - the Flyers' pitching duo of starter Sarah Bailitz and reliever Kelsey Gumm combined for seven strikeouts compared to only two strikeouts by Cougar pitchers

UP NEXT
UD is set to open the home portion of its 2022 schedule on Wednesday in the Flyers' last non-conference matchup prior to league games getting underway this coming weekend. Dayton will welcome Ohio to UD Softball Stadium for a single game March 9 and first pitch between the Flyers and Bobcats is set for 2 p.m. Admission is free.
