MIAMISBURG – The University of Dayton women's tennis team fell twice on Saturday to Western Kentucky on Senior Day for the Flyers. Dayton fell 4-2 in the first match of the doubleheader and 4-0 in the second of two contests at South Regency Tennis Center in Miamisburg.

The Flyers fall to 9-10 on the season with the two losses, while Western Kentucky improves to 15-8.

Dayton got off to a strong start in the first match, taking the doubles point from the Lady Toppers. Junior

Laura Greb took the win in No. 1 doubles 6-4 over Cora-Lynn von Dungern and Poala Cortez. Sophomore

Neena Katauskas also picked up the win in No. 3 doubles over Sofia Blanco and Samantha Martinez 6-1.

DeMarco also picked up her fifth singles win of the season and her third consecutive win over Blanco in No. 5 singles 6-2, 6-1.

Western Kentucky picked up four other wins during singles play to clinch the first match, as well as the doubles point and three singles win in the second match of the day.

The Flyers will finish Senior Weekend with a match Sunday evening at home against Eastern Michigan. That match is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. at South Regency Tennis Center in Miamisburg, with the Class of 2020 being honored at 4:30 p.m. prior to the contest.
