ORLANDO, Fla. – The University of Dayton women's tennis team fell in the first round of the Atlantic 10 Championship to Saint Joseph's 4-3 at USTA National Campus in Orlando. The Flyers won the doubles point and tallied two wins in singles play from freshmen
Neena Katauskas and
Laura Greb.

The Flyers finish the 2022 season with a 9-13 record after entering the A-10 Championship with their highest seed since the 2002 season as the fifth seed.

The morning started out positively for UD, with Dayton taking the doubles point against Saint Joseph's. The Hawks took the top doubles flight, but sophomore
Sarah DeMarco and freshman
Neena Katauskas won in No. 3 doubles 6-1 over Paige Conrad and Alex Kramer. Juniors
Paige Kompa and
Elizabeth Hamilton came back to clinch the doubles point in the second doubles flight, taking down Emily Elliott and Anna Kirk 6-4.

That put the Flyers up 1-0. After Saint Joseph's took No. 1 and No. 5 singles, Katauskas picked up her second win of the morning with a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Elliott on Court 3. Greb put the Flyers up 3-2 with her win in the fourth singles flight, beating Sophia Amato 6-4, 6-3.

The Hawks took the final two singles flights to take the match, winning on Court 6 and Court 2.
