BRONX, N.Y. - The University of Dayton softball team picked up a 7-6 win in game one of an Atlantic 10 doubleheader at Fordham Sunday before falling, 6-3, in the nightcap. The Flyers close out the 2022 regular season in fifth place in A-10 standings.
Dayton is now 12-10 in A-10 games and 19-22 overall while Fordham finishes the regular season in second place in league standings with a 15-7 mark and is 27-19 on the year.
GAME ONE
Dayton 7, Fordham 6
• 2 - four Flyers tallied multiple hits in the game including junior
Nicolette Papavasiliou who was 2-for-3 with two runs scored
• A - freshman
Emma Schutter tallied her second outfield assist of the season
• HR - both junior
Ali Weekley, her first of the season, and freshman
Chloe Wong, her second, knocked out a home run in the first inning
• GW - tied at 6-6 in the top of the seventh, senior
Megan Gist doubled in Papavasiliou for what would prove to be the game-winning run

Losing Pitcher: Emilee Watkins (2-1) - 5.0 IP, 2 ER, 3 K, 4 BB
GAME TWO
Fordham 6, Dayton 3
• 2 - junior
Emily Daniel was one of three Flyers to record two hits in the game, her 12th two-hit game of the season
• 8 - with a walk in the fifth inning, senior
Alyssa Cacini extended her reached-base streak to a season-high eight games
Winning Pitcher: Mackenzie McGrath (10-5) - 7.0 IP, 3 ER, 5 K, 4 BB
Losing Pitcher:
Catherine Jensen (1-3) - 0.2 IP, 2 ER, 0 K, 1 BB
