DAYTON - The University of Dayton volleyball team split its matches on the second day of the 2022 Dayton Invitational. Dayton downed Missouri State in three, 25-22, 25-21, 25-18, before falling to No. 25 Illinois, 3-0 (25-17, 25-23, 25-22) in Saturday's nightcap.
Dayton finishes the weekend at 5-4 on the season while Missouri State is 2-7 and Illinois improved to 4-3 overall.

Livie Sandt tallied a match-high-tying 32 assists to go with seven digs and four kills
10 - junior
Amelia Moore and freshman
Taylor Russell each posted a team-high 10 kills
4 - Russell also led the team with four blocks
GAME TWO
No. 25 Illinois 3, Dayton 0
12 - sophomore
Anna Wuensch got under a team-high 12 digs
9 - Russell led the Flyer attack with nine kills
3 - three Flyers recorded three blocks in the match

Dayton is slated to play four matches this coming week, kicking off at RV Ball State on Tuesday, Sept. 13. The Flyers and Redbirds will get underway at 6 p.m. in Muncie, Indiana, at Ball State's Worthen Arena. The match will be available to watch on ESPN+ and you can follow along via live stats.
