DAYTON - The University of Dayton volleyball team will close out the pre-conference portion of its 2022 schedule by taking part in Wright State's Tru by Hilton Beavercreek Dayton Invitational Sept. 15-17. Dayton will play at Wright State Thursday and Saturday and will play host to Wichita State on Friday. All matches are set to begin at 6 p.m.

ABOUT DAYTON
Dayton (6-4) picked up a 3-2 win at Ball State Tuesday night, the first of four matches for the Flyers this week. Junior middle blocker Amelia Moore leads the nation with 59 total blocks and ranks 26th nationally with 1.44 blocks/set while also averaging 2.41 kills/set with a .354 hitting percentage. Sophomore outside hitter Lexie Almodovar fronts the Flyer offense with 3.38 kills/set and junior setter Livie Sandt averages 8.11 assists/set (2nd A-10) while sophomore libero Anna Wuensch gets under a team-best 3.02 digs/set.

SCOUTING WRIGHT STATE
Wright State (5-3) had its five-match winning streak halted last weekend at Iowa State's Cardinal and Gold Challenge dropping 3-2 decisions to Iowa and Drake before falling to the host Cyclones, 3-1, in the tournament finale. Sam Ott is the team's leading attacker with 3.18 kills/set while Jenna Story paces the Raiders with 5.58 digs/set and 0.39 aces/set. Wright State is managed by first-year head coach Travers Green.

SCOUTING WICHITA STATE
Wichita State (4-5) heads to Dayton following a 1-3 trip through Lawrence and Kansas City. WSU was swept in three consecutive matches against UNLV, Kansas, and Northern Illinois, but returned the favor against host Kansas City with a straight set victory on Saturday. Wichita State has played five straight three-set matches, going 2-3 in those contests. The Cyclones' Sophia Rohling leads the team with 3.09 kills/set and Lily Liekweg is the team's leading passer with 3.24 digs/set.

SERIES STUFF
Wright State: Tied 29-29
In a series that dates back to 1974, Dayton and Wright State have previously squared off 58 times with both teams claiming 29 wins. The Flyers and Raiders split their last two meetings with a 3-2 win by Dayton at Wright State on March 16, 2021 and a 3-2 win by Wright State at Dayton on September 10, 2021. The Raiders' win last season snapped a six-match winning streak for the Flyers.
