Women's Soccer Dominates St. Bonaventure In Sunday Win

Flyers Win Fifth Straight Match, Remain Unbeaten In A-10 Play

DAYTON – The University of Dayton women's soccer team returned to action on Sunday, as they were home to take on the St. Bonaventure Bonnies.

In their second A-10 match of the season, the Flyers dominated possession of the ball throughout the match, and would cruise to a 2-0 victory at Baujan Field. Dayton improves to 8-1-1 overall with the win, and 2-0 in Atlantic 10 play. The Bonnies fall to 2-2-5 with the defeat, 0-2 early on in A-10 competition.

KEY MOMENT
Despite controlling a considerable amount (63%) of the possession in the first half, the Flyers were unable to get a breakthrough until the final minute of the half, as an Alicia Donley crossing attempt was deflected immediately, and floated behind Bonnies goalkeeper Chiara Gottinger and into the back of the net to give Dayton a 1-0 lead headed into the locker room.

In the second half, the Flyers continued much of the same in terms of possession, and would not need to wait near as long as they did in the first half, as a Noel Blain shot in the 61st minute hit the post, leaving a rebound for Mairin Wessner that she slotted into the net to give Dayton the insurance goal.
