Men’s Soccer Ranked 18th In United Soccer Coaches Poll

The Flyers Enter The Rankings For The First Time This Season

KANSAS CITY – The United Soccer Coaches Association announced their weekly rankings with the University of Dayton ranked 18th in the country.

The Flyers sit at 3-0-0 on the season and are leading the nation with a +12 goal differential and 14 goals on the season.

"It is great to receive national recognition early in the season," said head coach Dennis Currier. "We now have to work hard to protect the ranking and understand there is a bigger target on our back now."

Dayton received votes last week and holds victories over Cal Poly, South Carolina, and St. Thomas this year. Senior midfielder Andy Sanchez earned Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Week honors last week while freshman midfielder Gabriel Kringen was named A-10 Rookie of the Week.

The Flyers faced Evansville at home Sunday, but weather canceled the game when it was 0-0 in the 33rd minute.

UD returns to action Saturday, Sept. 10 at 8:30 p.m. at Kansas City.
