Box Score YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The University of Dayton men's tennis team traveled to Youngstown State University Sunday for a weekend showdown.
The Flyers (2-3) picked up a hard-fought victory while the Penguins (0-2) still look for their first win of the season.
"It was a huge win for the Flyers today," said head coach
Ryan Meyer. "Our guys stepped up after losing a tough doubles point. This team is special and led by our upperclassmen. Now we prepare for Marquette."
Senior
Georgi Mavrodiev clinched the win with a No. 6 singles victory despite trailing after the first set. Fellow seniors
Connor Bruce and
Matt DeMarco were victorious in No. 1 and No. 2 singles respectively, and picked up the lone doubles win for the Flyers.
