DAYTON - The University of Dayton women's basketball team remains at home to host Duquesne University on Wednesday, Jan. 25 at 7 p.m. in Atlantic 10 action.
SCOUTING THE FLYERS
Dayton enters the week with a 3-15 record overall and 2-5 A-10 mark. The Flyers have lost three in a row and are 2-7 at home this season.
Head coach
Tamika Williams-Jeter is in her first season in charge of her hometown Flyers, coming over after a year at Wittenberg. She has assistant coaching stops at Kansas, Kentucky, Penn State, and Ohio State.
As a team this year, the Flyers are averaging 64.6 points per game while giving up 70.0 points to opponents. Dayton is shooting 40.5 percent overall, 34.1 percent from three point range, and 71.4 percent from the free throw line. UD benefits from a +5.3 rebounding margin, but is committing 5.4 more turnovers per outing.

Mariah Perez is contributing 11.1 points and 8.5 rebounds each contest. Senior

SCOUTING DUQUESNE
Duquesne comes to UD Arena with a 13-7 record on the year and 3-4 league mark, including a home win over Dayton earlier in the campaign. The Dukes are coming off a tough one-point loss at Davidson and are 2-5 on the road this season.
Head coach Dan Burt is in his 10th season at the helm and 16th with the program.
As a team, Duquesne is scoring 68.2 points each contest and holding opposing squads to 62.0 points per game. The Dukes are shooting 39.9 percent from the field, 32.0 percent from behind the arc, and 70.1 percent from the charity stripe. Duquesne is out-rebounding opponents, but committing more turnovers as well.
The Dukes have five players averaging in double figures, led by Tess Myers with 12.3 points per game. Megan McConnell is a triple threat with 10.7 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 5.4 assists each outing.
LAST TIME OUT
Dayton suffered a 79-60 loss to Massachusetts on Sunday at UD Arena. The Flyers trailed from the beginning and were unable to overcome a 17-point halftime deficit.
Mariah Perez led UD with 15 points and seven boards.
Duquesne last played Davidson on Sunday and lost by just one point at home. The Wildcats hit a pair of free throws with two seconds left to seal the victory. Issy Morgan had a game-high 20 points and five assists.
SERIES HISTORY
Dayton and Duquesne have met 47 times previously with the Flyers holding a 25-22 series advantage. Earlier this season, UD went to Duquesne and dropped a 70-69 heartbreaker. Four Flyers scored in double-digits in the effort.
STATISTICAL RANKINGS
As a team, Dayton ranks 34th nationally in rebounds per game and 38th in defensive rebounds. The Flyers are also 66th in rebounding margin and 73rd in three point percentage.
