DAYTON – The University of Dayton women's basketball team took a heartbreaking loss at home against Duquesne University in a game where the Flyers had very strong first and third quarters.
The Flyers (3-16, 2-6 A-10) dropped their fourth straight while Duquesne (14-7, 4-4 A-10) won their first game off of a loss.

1st Quarter: Dayton 30, Duquesne 16
- The Dukes struck first by hitting a three on their first offensive possession.
- Senior Mariah Perez responded by scoring all of the Flyers' first eight points.
- Duquesne gave up four turnovers over the next 4:52, which they paired with a 2:36 scoring drought.
- Freeman hit a deep three as the time expired in the first quarter to give the Flyers a 14-point lead. This was their largest lead of the game so far.

3rd Quarter: Dayton 52, Duquesne 64
- Perez got the Flyers started by hitting a jumper to start the third quarter.
- Dayton went on a scoring drought for 4:19 while they allowed the Dukes to go on a 12-0 scoring run.
- The free throw hit by Megan McConnell of the Dukes gave them their largest lead of the game at seven points.
- Duquesne went on an 11-0 run where they hit five of six from the field.
- The Flyers were outscored 25-8 in the third quarter.
4th Quarter: Dayton 79, Duquesne 87
- Freeman scored the first three points of the quarter by hitting a layup and a successful free throw.
- Dayton had a 3:04 scoring drought while the Dukes went on an 11-0 scoring run.
- Redshirt junior Destiny Bohanon hit a three, created a turnover, and threw in a layup to put herself at 13 points for the night.
- Freeman hit a three with 28 seconds remaining, which put the Flyers within nine.
- The Flyers went five for five in field goal attempts, but could not finish the comeback.
