DAYTON – The University of Dayton women's tennis team is set to host the Xavier Musketeers Friday at 5 p.m. and the Milwaukee Panthers Sunday at 10 a.m. Both matches will take place at
South Regency Tennis Center in Miamisburg. Admission is free.
Dayton (0-1) opened the 2023 season with a 5-2 loss to Miami (Ohio) on Jan. 22 as freshman
Natalie Osiecki and junior
Elizabeth Hamilton came from behind to win their respective matches in the one and three spots.
Xavier (1-2) claimed a 7-0 win over Northern Kentucky at home on Jan. 20, sandwiched between losses at Penn State and Notre Dame. Emily Flowers and Paulina Franco Martinessi have combined for a 2-1 record at the No. 2 double slot to lead the Musketeers. Dayton and Xavier last squared off Jan. 15, 2022 as the Musketeers claimed a 5-2 win over the Flyers in Cincinnati.
Milwaukee (2-0) heads into the weekend unbeaten and the Panthers will take on the Miami RedHawks Saturday before heading over to the Dayton area to square off against the Flyers. The Panthers got off to a 2-0 start for the first time since the 2010-11 season after earning a pair of victories against Hillsdale last weekend. The wins handed head coach Ryan Kucera his first official victories as a Panther. Milwaukee defeated Dayton, 4-1, in the last match-up between the two squads on March 1, 2020 in Milwaukee.
