DAYTON - The 18th-ranked University of Dayton volleyball team is headed to North Carolina this weekend for two Atlantic 10 matches at Davidson. The Flyers and Wildcats will square off on Friday, Oct. 13 at 7 p.m. followed by a 2 p.m. matchup on Saturday. Both contests will be played at Davidson's Belk Arena and admission is free.

Fans can follow the action via live stats on both Friday and Saturday while Saturday's match will also be streamed live via ESPN+.

ABOUT DAYTON
Dayton (18-2, 7-0 A-10) is currently enjoying a 13-match winning streak and has not dropped a set since its 3-1 win at Loyola Chicago Sept. 22 during the pair's conference opener. As a team, the Flyers rank second in the nation with 160 aces led by Taylor Russell with 35 (14th NCAA) and Lexie Almodovar with 32 (21st NCAA). Almodovar is the team's leading attacker with 4.26 kills/set (19th NCAA) while Alayna Yates carries the team's best hitting percentage (.353 - 2nd A-10). At the net, Amelia Moore collects 1.29 blocks/set (44th NCAA) and Karissa Kaminski is the team's leading passer with 4.57 digs/set (5th A-10).

SCOUTING DAVIDSON
Davidson (12-5, 4-3 A-10) broke up its three-match losing streak last weekend by taking two conference wins at Rhode Island and currently sits in fourth place in A-10 standings. The Wildcats' offense is led by Jackie Bardin with 2.96 kills/set (9th A-10) and Sola Omonije with a .383 hitting percentage (2nd A-10) while Xuan Nguyan serves as the team's primary setter averaging 6.12 assists/set (6th A-10). On defense, reigning A-10 Libero of the Year Bella Brady gets under 5.17 digs/set (15th NCAA) and Kayla Davis is the team's leading blocker with 0.82 blocks/set.

SERIES STUFF
Dayton Leads, 14-2
UD and DC first squared off in 2014 and the Flyers won the first 13 meetings between the two programs. Davidson broke that streak in 2022, claiming wins in both regular-season games between the Flyers and Wildcats. Dayton got back in the win column Nov. 19 with a straight-victory over Davidson in the semifinals of the 2022 Atlantic 10 Championship.

LAST TIME OUT
Dayton closed out a 3-0 week with two straight-set wins at home over George Mason this past weekend. On Saturday, Taylor Russell led the Flyers with 12 kills behind a .440 hitting percentage and Karissa Kaminski led all passers in the match with 15 digs.

RPI RANKINGS
In the NCAA's most recent Rating Percentage Index (RPI) for the 2023 season released Oct. 9, Dayton ranked 20th according to NCAA.com. Davidson was ranked 192nd.

AVCA/TARAFLEX TOP 25 COACHES POLL
In the Oct. 9 edition of the AVCA/TARAFLEX Division I Top 25 poll, Dayton was ranked 18th, up two spots from last week. This is the Flyers' highest ranking in the national top-25 poll since being ranked 18th on Oct. 20, 2012. Over the history of the AVCA WVB DI Coaches Top 25 Poll, Dayton has been ranked a total of 62 times and the program's highest ranking was No. 10 on Sept. 3, 2012.
