DAYTON – The University of Dayton football team suffered a 20-17 loss to Presbyterian College in overtime at Welcome Stadium Saturday afternoon.
GAME RECAP
1st Quarter – Dayton 0, Presbyterian 3
- Presbyterian got ahead first with a 28-yard field goal with 5:56 to go in the quarter.
- Matt Lenti picked off a pass with 12:40 left in the quarter
2nd Quarter – Dayton 0, Presbyterian 10
- Early in the quarter, Dayton began to drive but turned the ball over via fumble at the 46-yard line with 11:14 remaining.
- With 7:47 remaining in the half, Presbyterian connected on a 10-yard touchdown pass to extend their lead to 10-0.
3rd Quarter – Dayton 0, Presbyterian 17
- Dayton got a huge turnover with 7:42 remaining in the quarter as Lenti knocked the ball out on the Presbyterian goal line and Linebacker Aiden McKinley recovered it in the end zone.
- This led to a Dayton drive to midfield where the Flyers turned it over on another fumble, giving Presbyterian the ball at the Dayton 47 with 4:44 left in the quarter.
- Presbyterian extends their lead to 17-0 on a three-yard touchdown rush with 1:59 remaining.
- Quarterback Cole Dow puts the Flyers in the red zone with a huge 42-yard rush at the end of the quarter.
4th Quarter – Dayton 17, Presbyterian 17
- UD gets on the board via a 30-yard field goal by Sam Webster with 14:09 remaining in the game.
- The Flyers follow up the points by scoring again on their next drive with a 13-yard touchdown run by Michael Neel to cut the deficit to 17-10.
- Dayton ties the game at 17-17 with 13 seconds remaining on a one-yard touchdown run by Dow which followed up his 25-yard rush to the one yard line.
- UD outscored Presbyterian 17-0 in the fourth quarter.
OVERTIME
- Presbyterian hit the game-winning field goal on its first possession from 34 yards out to earn the victory.
BY THE NUMBERS
• Dayton finished with 193 rushing yards on 42 attempts while throwing for 118 yards and one touchdown.
•  The Flyers outgained the Blue Hose 311 to 274 in the contest.

Cole Dow led UD with 85 rushing yards and a touchdown while
Michael Neel had 82 yards and a touchdown.

Drew VanVleet went 8-for-14 with 67 yards while Dow was 8-for-15 for 51 yards.

Gideon Lampron had a team-high seven tackles and one sack while
Logan Miller chipped in seven tackles as well.
•  Possession favored Dayton 33:32 to 26:28.
•  UD was 3-for-4 on fourth down conversions.
