Box Score CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Fifth-year senior Connor Bruce and freshman Luis Saraiva led a successful weekend for the University of Dayton men's tennis team at the ITA Ohio Valley Regionals, leading the Flyers with three and two wins, respectively, at the event hosted by the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
 
Bruce advanced to the Round of 16 thanks to wins over Giovanni Beccchis (Austin Peay) 6-3, 6-2, Will Mayew (Louisville) 3-6, 6-3, 6-0, and Javier Cueto Ramos (MTSU) 6-1, 6-4. He fell in his finale 6-1, 3-6, 3-6 to Memphis's Pau Fanlo.
 
Saraiva added to his impressive start to his collegiate career, collecting a pair of wins over regionally ranked Filip Apltauer of Tennessee as well as Miguel Avendano Cadena of Louisville, 3-6, 6-2, 6-1.
 
The doubles pairing of Bruce and Nikola Puric won their opening action in doubles play, defeating Quinten Gillespie and Dylan Brown of Southern Indiana, 8-0.
 
Fifth-year Matt DeMarco and freshman Mikkel Zinder, as well as Puric, all earned wins in the main draw before falling, while Erik Eliasson and Kyle McNally each picked up wins in the consolation bracket.
