Flyers Finish A-10 Slate Unbeaten with 1-0 Win at Rhode Island

Laney Huber's 85th-Minute Tally Gave UD The Victory

KINGSTON, R.I. – The University of Dayton women's soccer team clinched an unbeaten Atlantic 10 slate thanks to a goal from fifth-year Laney Huber in the 85th minute to give the Flyers a 1-0 win over Rhode Island Sunday, Oct. 22 at the URI Soccer Complex.

KEY MOMENTS
The Flyers (12-1-5, 7-0-3) tallied the game's lone goal in the 85th minute when fifth-year Marlee Taylor beat a pair of defenders and centered a pass to Huber's feet. The Loveland, Ohio native scorched her fourth game-winner of the season past the keeper to give UD the late lead.

In the game's opening half, Rhode Island had a prime scoring chance with an offensive player one-on-one with sophomore keeper Batoul Reda. As has been the case many times this season, Reda smothered the shot attempt and kept the Rams off the board.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
Huber's goal was her fourth game-winner of the season and put her in the team lead for points with 15.

Taylor continued her hot stretch of late, picking up another assist to make it three consecutive games with a point. The Plymouth, Mich. native has set a new career-high for assists with five.

Dayton had a 7-0 edge in corners, marking the third time this season the Flyers have held an opponent without a corner (4-0 vs. Wright State Sept. 3, 6-0 vs. George Mason Oct. 12).

Reda stopped all five shots she saw on target in the contest, lowering her goals-against average to just 0.53, good for best in the A-10.

It was the Atlantic-10 leading ninth shutout of the campaign for Reda and 10th total for the Dayton defense.

Reda's save percentage jumped to .898, which leads the conference and puts her in a tie for fourth in the NCAA.
