OXFORD, Ohio – The University of Dayton women's basketball team remained on the road and earned the victory at Miami University of Ohio Saturday afternoon.
The Flyers (5-5) improve to .500 on the year while the RedHawks' (1-6) losing streak continues.

rd quarter – 1:40 – Miami had pulled within five of Dayton, but the Flyers responded with a 7-0 run to pull back ahead by double digits to end the third.
GAME BREAKDOWN
1st Quarter: Dayton 16, Miami 13
- Miami struck first in the opening minute, but Dayton responded with a 5-0 run to pull ahead of the RedHawks.
- By the media break, the Flyers led 10-6 thanks to a pair of threes from freshman Denika Lightbourne and redshirt senior Destiny Bohanon.
- The Flyers shot 50 percent in the opening 10 minutes while the RedHawks shot 38.5 percent.
- Senior Anyssa Jones and sophomore Nayo Lear led the way for UD with four points each on 2-of-3 shooting.
- Dayton forced eight turnovers in the first quarter resulting in nine points.
2nd Quarter: Dayton 36, Miami 25
- The Flyers carried momentum into the second quarter getting big threes from Bohanon and junior Arianna Smith.
- Dayton extended its lead to double digits at 29-18 with 7:15 on the clock.
- Midway through the second, the Flyers held a 33-22 lead with ones being the first player in double digits with 11 points.
- Junior Shannon Wheeler had a career-high three steals in just eight minutes of action up to that point.
- Dayton shot 48.4 percent in the first half and was 6-of-12 from three point range.
- Eight different Flyers were on the score sheet in the opening 20 minutes.
3rd Quarter: Dayton 60, Miami 48
- Miami was able to close the gap to single digits in the opening three minutes of the second half.
- At the media timeout, Dayton led 46-39 as the RedHawks were clawing their way back into the game.
- Miami's Jadyn Scott took over for the hosts and scored 12 points in the third quarter alone.
- The Flyers were able to push their margin back to double digits by the end of the quarter with a three from Wheeler.
4th Quarter: Dayton 73, Miami 60
- Neither team was able to make a difference in the score the opening three minutes of the fourth before a three from junior Ivy Wolf ended the drought.
- Miami was forced to call its first timeout at the 6:24 mark with Dayton leading 63-50.
- Wolf and graduate student Mariah Perez reached the double-digit scoring mark as well in the quarter.
- In the end, Dayton was able to fend off the Miami rally.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
11 – Dayton tied a season high with 11 steals in the contest and recorded five blocks as well.
4 – There were four Flyers in double digits, led by
Anyssa Jones with 14 points on 6-of-10 shooting.
50% – The Flyers shot 50 percent in the effort while holding the RedHawks to 42.6 percent.
