CHICAGO – The University of Dayton women's basketball team traveled to Atlantic 10 newcomer Loyola Chicago Wednesday and earned an 81-68 victory.
The Flyers (4-17, 3-7 A-10) earn their third conference win of the season while the Ramblers' (6-15, 1-7 A-10) losing streak moves to eight straight.

rd – Dayton ended the third quarter on a 9-0 run to pull ahead 59-50 and kept momentum in their favor the rest of the way.
GAME BREAKDOWN
1st Quarter: Dayton 18, Loyola 16
- Despite a slow start from both teams, the Flyers were the first to strike with a drive from junior Anyssa Jones at the 7:50 mark.
- The pace picked up though and shots started to fall with the media timeout not coming until the 2:54 mark with Loyola leading 14-10.
- The Ramblers were 6-of-6 during a stretch that saw them extend their lead to six.
- Redshirt junior Destiny Bohanon drilled a corner three off the nice dish from sophomore Arianna Smith to cut the margin to one at the 1:34 mark.
- Junior Taisiya Kozlova followed that up with a three in the final seconds of the quarter to put UD up 18-16.
2nd Quarter: Dayton 42, Loyola 36
- The first foul in the game was not committed until the 9:26 mark in the second quarter.
- Dayton continued to pound the ball inside and took a 27-22 lead, but Loyola was not going away.
- It remained an up-tempo game over the next few minutes and it was the Flyers who held a 34-33 lead at the media break with 2:11 to play.
- The Flyers ended with a defensive stop to make it a six-point game, 42-36.
- Bohanon had a team-high 12 points in the first half while senior Mariah Perez had eight points and eight rebounds.
- UD shot 50 percent to Loyola's 41 percent and had a 20-8 points in the paint advantage.
3rd Quarter: Dayton 59, Loyola 50
- Both offenses were sluggish coming out of the locker room with Dayton not getting its first bucket until the 6:58 mark with a layup from Smith, giving her 11 points in the game.
- Smith scored the first two buckets for the Flyers to start the second half.
- By the media timeout, Dayton led Loyola 46-42. Up to that point, the Flyers had only attempted one free throw.
- The Ramblers tied the game up at the 3:59 mark, 46-46, but a steal and layup by Jones put UD back ahead.
- Perez became the third Flyer in double digits with her 10th point of the contest.
- A 7-0 run by Dayton forced a Loyola timeout with 1:01 to go and the Flyers up by seven, 57-50.
4th Quarter: Dayton 81, Loyola 68
- Dayton got the margin to double digits with a layup by Perez off the dish from Bohanon, making it an 11-point game.
- Loyola ended its scoring drought dating back to the third quarter at the 8:46 mark.
- Kozlova nailed her fourth three of the game to give her double figures as well midway through the fourth.
- The Flyers got the margin to 12 with under three minutes to play and were able to hold on down the stretch.

6 – Dayton committed its fewest fouls of the season with just six in the game. The Flyers were also only fouled eight times, tying season lows with fouls drawn and free throw attempts.
