LEXINGTON, Ky. - The University of Dayton softball team fell to No. 16 Kentucky, 5-4, Wednesday night in a hard fought battle at the Wildcats' John Cropp Stadium. Graduate student Alyssa Cacini blasted a home run bringing sophomore Emma Shutter and junior Kara Gunter around the diamond with her, putting the Flyers on the board in the first inning. The Flyers kept the lead until the Wildcats sealed the deal with a three-run homer in the bottom of the sixth. 

Dayton is now 6-9 and Kentucky improves to 13-5-1 overall.

HR- Cacini crushed a three-run home run that got Dayton on the board in the first inning, her third home run this season

4- Senior Katie Reeg scores the fourth run for Dayton after an error from Kentucky
