WHAT THEY HAD TO SAY
Varsity 8+
"The 1V8+ approached the first race with anticipation, shaking out our first race jitters and getting a feel for how our hard work through winter training would pay off in the water," said senior
Kaelyn Stepic and senior
Elli Ertl. "It was a strong first race that we used to gauge what needed to be done and adjusted to make the second even stronger. After discussing what moves we needed to make as a boat, we were able to stay long and push hard together. Our lessons from the first race helped things click into place and allowed us to hold more seats for longer against Notre Dame. Every time we get out, we improve even further, and the fight we showed today, we are excited to see what we can do at SIRA."
2 Varsity 8+
"Today's races truly showed how well our team came together to win, but also we found the join in process," said junior
Angelina Koch. "The 2V8+ final was a fight against Grand Valley all the way to the end, and no one gave up a single stroke. I am proud of everyone's hard work, persistence, and grit during both of our races, and I can't wait to see what our team can do at SIRA."
Novice 8+
"The novice's first race went really well," said freshman
Katherine Blandford. "From the start of the first race, the boat moved really well together and was able to pull a good finish. The final showed the drive of our boat proving it when we sprinted with all we had left and finishing first. Such a strong showing from the novice this early in the season shows awesome promise for the rest of the year."
Varsity 4+
"I think we showed some improvement between the two races, and this early in the season, it's great to see some progress out on the water in that race setting," said senior
Mackenzie Meyers and sophomore
Paige Sherlock. "We did well considering our limited water time due to weather, and we are excited to continue to improve and grow moving forward."
