KINGSTON, R.I. - The University of Dayton softball team picked up two wins at Rhode Island Saturday in Atlantic 10 action. The Flyers' 7-1 win over the Rams in game one marked head coach
Cara Clark-LaPlaca's 500th career win.
Dayton ended the day with a 25-13 overall record and an 11-2 mark in A-10 games while Rhode Island moved to 16-22 on the season and 6-7 in league action.
GAME ONE
Dayton 7, Rhode Island 1
3 - sophomore
Maddie Kapsimalis collected three RBI, her third multi-RBI game of the season
2 - four Flyers recorded two hits in the game including senior
Quinn Pallardy who also scored two runs
500 - the Flyers' game-one win = Clark-LaPlaca's 500th career victory

GAME TWO
Dayton 5, Rhode Island 1
7.0 - sophomore
Haven Dwyer worked her fourth complete game of the season
3 - sophomore
Emma Schutter was 3-for-4 from the plate and also scored two runs for the Flyers
SB - Schutter tallied her 25th stolen base of the season

Dayton and Rhode Island will close out their three-game league series on Sunday with a single game at URI Softball Complex. First pitch between the Flyers and Rams is set for 12 p.m. and admission is free. You can follow the game via live stats on
