COACH'S COMMENTS
"I told these guys regardless of the record, we are close," said head coach Dennis Currier. "We have been playing really well even though on the road we came up short, we played great against Michigan State and Western Michigan. I felt like it was going to be a breakout and tonight was it. I thought the guys had a really good performance for all 90 minutes. We got the shutout and we were just really composed throughout the match. We were just in control of the entire game. Ultimately you have to get the wins to get the momentum. The way we have been playing the last two matches is just how do we get over the hump and how do we get through the adversity and tonight was a stepping stone."

UP NEXT
  • The Flyers return to non-conference action next Tuesday, Sept. 19 at 7 p.m. against No. 4 West Virginia on the road.
