Women's Soccer Travels to Saint Louis Sunday for Key A-10 Bout

The Flyers And Billikens Square Off At 2 PM ET

DAYTON – The University of Dayton women's soccer team heads to the Show-Me State Sunday, Sept. 24 to take on Saint Louis in a battle of the top two teams in Atlantic 10 at 2 p.m. ET at Robert R. Hermann Stadium.
 
LEAGUE LEADERS CLASH
• Sunday's match pits the top two teams in the Atlantic 10 against one another in more ways than one.
 
• Saint Louis leads the conference with a 2-0 mark in league action, while Dayton is in second at 2-0-1.
 
• The Billikens lead the A-10 in scoring averaging with 3.0 goals per game, and are second in goals allowed at 0.90 goals per game. The Flyers, meanwhile, are second in goals per game with a 2.182 average, and lead the conference in goals allowed with a 0.73 average.
 
• SLU was the Atlantic 10 favorite in the preseason coaches poll, while UD was picked second.
 
STIFLING DEFENSE (AGAIN)
• Dayton has started Atlantic 10 play with three consecutive shutouts, allowing just four total shots in a scoreless draw at St. Bonaventure, holding Massachusetts scoreless and surrendering just two shots on goal, and turning around to allow just six total shots and two shots on goal against Davidson.
 
SERIES HISTORY
• Dayton and Saint Louis have played one another 24 times in program history, with the Billikens holding a slim advantage in the all-time series, 11-10-3.
 
• SLU has held the upper hand in the series recently, winning 11 consecutive matches.
 
• The Flyers and Billikens have played one another eight times since the spring of 2021, including twice in the Atlantic 10 Championship.
 
SCOUTING THE FLYERS
• Dayton improved to 7-1-3 on the season and 2-0-1 in the Atlantic 10 with a convincing 3-0 victory over Davidson at Baujan Field.
 
• Senior Madison Wilson scored two goals against the Wildcats to put her in a tie for the team lead on the season with junior Noel Blain, each having five.
 
• Sophomore keeper Batoul Reda has 41 saves on the season against 106 total shots for a save percentage of .854 and boasts a 7-0-3 record.
 
SCOUTING THE BILLIKENS
• Saint Louis is 7-2-1 on the season, including a 2-0 start to Atlantic 10 play. The Billikens are 3-1 in games played at Robert R. Hermann Stadium this season.
 
• Senior Caroline Kelly leads the high-powered Saint Louis offense with five goals and 11 total points. Eight Billikens have registered at least two goals on the campaign, while Hannah Larson has a team-best six assists.
 
• Keeper Emily Puricelli has started all 10 matches for SLU this season. She has made 49 saves against 114 total shots for a save percentage of .845.
 
MULTI-GOAL MADNESS
• Senior Madison Wilson tallied her first career multi-goal game with her two-goal performance over Davidson.
 
• With the goal, Wilson set a new career-high for goals in a season (5) and has surpassed her career point total coming into 2023 (11) in this season alone (13).
 
• The multi-goal game is the fourth of the season for a Flyer (2 - Mairin Wessner vs. Cincinnati; 2 - Noel Blain at Akron; 2 - Laney Huber at Wright State).

• Dayton returns to the friendly confines of Baujan Field Thursday, Sept. 28 when it welcomes Fordham to the Gem City for a 7 p.m. match.
