Women's Soccer Earns 1-1 Draw At SLU

Diana Benigno Scored The Flyers' Goal In The 70th Minute

SAINT LOUIS, Mo. – Senior Diana Benigno provided the offense and sophomore keeper Batoul Reda made seven saves to lead the University of Dayton women's soccer team to a 1-1 draw at Saint Louis on Sunday at Hermann Stadium.
 
KEY MOMENTS
With Dayton (7-1-4, 2-0-2) trailing 1-0 in the 70th minute to the Atlantic 10's top-scoring offense in Saint Louis (7-2-2, 2-0-1), senior Diana Benigno capitalized on a failed clear by the Billikens' defense to score her first goal of the season and knot the score at 1-1.
 
The Flyers blocked two of the final four shots from SLU in the last 20 minutes of action, allowing UD to return home with the draw.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
Benigno is now fourth on the team in total points with eight, adding today's goal to an Atlantic 10-leading six assists.
 
Dayton's defense was once again led by sophomore keeper Batoul Reda, who finished the game with seven saves after facing 20 total shots.
 
UD's draw keeps the Flyers undefeated in the Atlantic 10 this season.
 
The Flyers had fallen in 10 consecutive matchups with the Billikens before this afternoon's tie.
