DAYTON – The University of Dayton women's soccer team returns home to take on the Fordham Rams in an Atlantic 10 battle Thursday, Sept. 28 at 7 p.m. at Baujan Field.
MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS GAME
• Thursday night is the Flyers' Mental Health Awareness game. The first 75 Dayton students in attendance will receive a free hat.
UPCOMING PROMOTIONS
• In addition to tonight's Mental Health Awareness promotion, the Flyers are raising money via player jersey auction for the Pink Ribbon Good foundation as part of their Breast Cancer Awareness initiative.
• The jersey auction runs until the conclusion of the Flyers' match against Loyola Chicago on Sunday, Oct. 15.
ANOTHER WEEKLY WINNER
• Senior midfielder
Diana Benigno was named Atlantic 10 Co-Offensive Player of the Week Monday, Sept. 25, after playing a key role in Dayton's 1-0-1 week.
• The Beavercreek, Ohio native picked up an assist in the Flyers 3-0 victory over Davidson and scored the Flyers' game-tying goal in the 1-1 draw at Saint Louis.
• Benigno's assist was her Atlantic 10-leading sixth of the campaign, burning past multiple defenders and crossing a perfect pass to fellow senior
Madison Wilson for the goal. The senior then tallied the Flyers' equalizer on the road at SLU on Sunday, burying a failed clear to knot the score and give UD a crucial road point.
• The weekly winner was the fourth time this season a Dayton Flyer has earned an Atlantic 10 Player of the Week honor.
SERIES HISTORY
• Dayton and Fordham are playing for the 25th time in program history Thursday night, with the series dating back to the 1996 season.
• The Flyers hold the all-time edge over the Rams with a 19-2-3 record in the series.
• Dayton has won four straight against Fordham and 11 of the last 12 meetings. UD is a perfect 11-0 all-time against the Rams at Baujan Field.
SCOUTING THE FLYERS
• Dayton improved to 7-1-4 on the season and 2-0-2 in the Atlantic 10 after picking up a key road point with a 1-1 draw at Saint Louis on Sunday.
• The offense is led by senior
Madison Wilson and junior
Noel Blain, who have each scored five goals this season. Wilson leads the team with 13 points. Senior
Diana Benigno's six assists lead the Flyers and is tied for most in the A-10.
• Sophomore keeper
Batoul Reda has 47 saves on the season against 126 total shots for a save percentage of .855. The Dearborn, Mich. native boasts a 7-0-4 record and has four shutouts and a combined shutout on the season.
SCOUTING THE RAMS
• Fordham is 3-6-2 on the season, including a 1-1-1 start to Atlantic 10 play. The Rams are 0-2-1 in road matches this season, including a scoreless draw at George Washington in its lone A-10 road game.
• Graduate student Caroline Kelly leads the Rams offense with eight points, courtesy of a team-high four goals. Freshman Riley Carroll has seven points on the campaign, scoring three goals and also tallying an assist.
• Sophomore Kyla King has logged the most minutes in goal this season, making nine starts on the campaign. She has made 25 saves against 87 total shots for a save percentage of .694 and is allowing 1.32 goals per game.
