DAYTON - The 21st-ranked University of Dayton volleyball team downed visiting Fordham, 3-0 (25-15, 25-12, 25-14), Friday evening at Frericks Center. Sophomore
Taylor Russell was one off her career high with a match-high 16 kills.
Dayton improved to 14-2 in the season and 3-0 in Atlantic 10 matches while Fordham moves to 10-3 overall and 1-2 in league action.
KEY STATS
16 - Russell recorded 16 kills and was one away from a double-double with nine digs
8 - as a team, the Flyers served up eight aces, led by Russell with three, compared to the Rams' two team aces
7 & 4 - junior
Alayna Yates was second on the team with seven kills and also collected a match-high four blocks
Fordham - the Rams were paced by Tatum Holderied with five kills and Whitney Woodrow with 12 assists
UP NEXT
Dayton and Fordham will square off again Saturday to close out the two-match A-10 series. First serve between the Flyers and Rams is set for 12 p.m. at Frericks Center and admission is free.
