DAYTON - The University of Dayton volleyball team battled second-ranked Louisville to five sets before falling to the 2022 national runner-up, 3-2 (25-17, 23-25, 25-19, 19-25, 15-11), in front of a rowdy crowd at Frericks Center Wednesday night. The Flyers, who have received votes in the last two AVCA/TARAFLEX Top 25 DI polls, were led by junior Lexie Almodovar with 22 kills and sophomore Karissa Kaminski with 14 digs.

Dayton moves to 5-2 on the season while Louisville is now 7-0 on the year.

KEY STATS
41 - junior Alyssa Miller tallied 41 assists, her fourth 40+-assist match of the season, to go with seven digs and three blocks
22 - Almodovar led the Flyer attack with 22 kills, her second 20+-kill match of the season. She also passed seven digs, tallied four blocks and served up two aces
14 - Kaminski passed a team-best 14 digs
6 - senior Amelia Moore recorded a team-high six blocks to go with seven kills and two service aces
Louisville - the Cards were led by Anna DeBeer with 24 kills and 11 digs, the only double-double of the match
