DAYTON - The University of Dayton women's basketball team led George Washington from start to finish Wednesday night, coming out with a 71-53 victory in an Atlantic 10 conference bout at UD Arena.
The Flyers (8-9, 2-4 A-10) get back on the winning track while the Revolutionaries (8-9, 1-4 A10) drop to 1-1 on its current conference road trip.

Mariah Perez converted a layup to put Dayton on the board. The Flyers would go on to lead for all but 57 seconds in the contest.
GAME BREAKDOWN
1st Quarter: Dayton 20, George Washington 12
- Senior Aynssa Jones started a strong first quarter with a layup of her own to extend UD's early lead, then added a three off an assist from junior Ivy Wolf to give Dayton a 9-8 advantage
- The Flyers never trailed again, holding the lead the rest of the game
- Wolf got herself in the scoring column with a three-pointer on an assist from junior Shannon Wheeler
- Arianna Smith pushed the Flyers ahead 20-12 with an and-one with just seven seconds remaining in the quarter
2nd Quarter: Dayton 40, George Washington 25
- Wolf pushed the lead to 10 with a pair of free throws to start the quarter
- After forcing a turnover, freshman Denika Lightbourne threw a beautiful assist to Arianna Smith, extending the Flyers' lead to 24-14.
- Back-to-back three-pointers from Wolf and Wheeler put UD ahead 38-23
- Wheeler continued her strong second quarter with a layup assisted by sophomore Nayo Lear, putting the Flyers up 40-23 with just 48 seconds to go.
- Dayton closed out the half out-rebounding George Washington 22-17
3rd Quarter: Dayton 55, George Washington, 40
- The Flyers started the quarter strong with back-to-back layups from Anyssa Jones and Arianna Smith
- Perez secured a layup off a spin move to extend Flyers lead 46-29 at 7:01.
- Wheeler secured an and-one to add to UD's lead and make it 53-39 at 2:08.Â
- The Flyers outshot George Washington from the charity stripe with seven free throws with the Revolutionaries only hitting two.Â
4th Quarter: Dayton 71, George Washington, 53
- Redshirt sophomore Destiny Bohanon got herself on the board securing the Flyers' first points of the quarter with a three pushing Dayton ahead 58-42.
- Wolf secured the dagger off a GW turnover, extending the Flyers' lead with her 63-46 at 6:38 mark
- Bohannon finished with touch around the bucket with the assist from Wolf to give UD its final score of 71
