DAYTON – The University of Dayton women's basketball team suffered their second defeat of the season at the hands of Saint Louis University Wednesday night. 
 
KEY MOMENT
 
1st Half - Saint Louis outscored Dayton 40-14 in the opening 20 minutes.
 
1^st Quarter: Dayton 9, SLU 16

• Junior Ivy Wolf got the Flyers rolling with two quick mid-range buckets.
• Flyers end Saint Louis' 8-0 run with a made free throw from junior Shannon Wheeler.
• Wheeler keeps the scoring going with a mid-range floater cutting the lead to five.
• A SLU layup was made to end the quarter giving the Billikens a 16-9 lead.
• Despite best efforts, the Flyers were outpaced by SLU.

2^nd Quarter: Dayton 14, SLU 40 

• SLU started off the second quarter with two threes pushing the lead to 22-11 with 5:43 to go.
• Billikens go on a 16-0 run over the next 3:10.
• Wolf knocks down a three to end SLU's run.
• Saint Louis stayed hot pushing their lead to 26 at the end of the second.

3^rd Quarter: Dayton 35, SLU 68

• UD starts the half with two free throws from redshirt senior Destiny Bohanon.
• SLU answers back with two threes of their own, expanding the lead to 30 with 6:40 left.
• Bohanon stays hot with an up-and-under layup putting her at 4 points in the half.
• Arianna Smith grabs her eighth board helping her reach the career milestone of 500 rebounds halfway through the third quarter.
• Senior Taisiya Kozlava comes out of the timeout hot with her first two shots of the game as made threes.

4^th Quarter: Dayton 61, SLU 87

• Freshman Eve Fiala gets the quarter started with a made layup.
• Sophomore Nayo Lear got her second bucket of the game with a mid-range jumper.
• Flyers have made all three of their last field goals with 7:14 left.
• Dayton outscores Saint Louis 26-19.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
15 and 10 - Eve Fiala set new career highs and recorded her first double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
10 - Arianna Smith grabbed 10 rebounds helping her reach the career milestone of 500 rebounds.
81 to 75 - Flyers shot 81 percent from the free throw line, besting Saint Louis' 75 percent.
41 to 38 - Dayton out-rebounds SLU 41 to 38.
35 to 28 - UD bench out-scores SLU bench 35 to 28.
 
KEY STAT
500 - Arianna Smith reached her career milestone of 500 rebounds.
