DAYTON - The University of Dayton men's soccer team returns home to host Fordham University Saturday, Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. at Baujan Field. It will be Senior Night for the Flyers with the four seniors recognized in a ceremony pregame.
SCOUTING THE FLYERS
Dayton is riding a seven-game unbeaten streak dating back to Aug. 25 and the Flyers' lone loss of the season at home to Jacksonville. UD is 5-1-3 overall on the year and 1-0-2 in Atlantic 10 play. The Flyers are 2-1 at home and currently sit in eighth in the league standings.
Head coach
Dennis Currier is in his 20th year at Dayton and is the winningest coach in program history. He ranks eighth among active Division I coaches in career wins.
Dayton is averaging 2.78 goals per game and holding opponents to 1.11 goals each outing. The Flyers boast one of the most dangerous attacks in the country, averaging 20.4 shots per game which ranks second nationally and is third in Division I in scoring offense.

Martin Bakken with six goals and 13 points while graduate student
Hjalti Sigurdsson has 13 points on five goals and three assists. A-10 Rookie of the Week
Andrew Armstrong scored a brace last outing and has made two straight starts at striker.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
FORDHAM
Fordham sits in a tie with Dayton in the A-10 standings with five points on a 1-1-2 record in conference games. The Rams are 4-3-4 overall and 2-2-2 in away games this season. Fordham has not lost on the road since Sept. 13 at Marist. Â
Head coach Carlo Acquista is in his sixth season at the helm of the Rams.
As a team, Fordham is scoring 1.64 goals each outing and giving up 1.36 goals to opposing squads. The Rams are matching opponents with 11.6 attempts each game and .422 on goal percentage.
The main offensive threat for Fordham is Daniel D'ippolito with 18 points on team-highs of seven goals and four assists. The Rams have used three keepers, led by Carter Abbott with nine starts.
LAST OUTING
Dayton went on the road to Massachusetts Wednesday and had a late victory spoiled by a Minutemen equalizer in the 88th minute. The Flyers got a goal from sophomore
Cooper Lijewski, but it was not enough as UMass rallied for the draw.
Fordham battled to a 2-2 draw with Saint Louis on Wednesday at home. The Rams trailed by two just 21 minutes into the contest, but mounted a comeback in the second half capped off with a converted PK in the 89th minute.
SETTING THE STANDARD
Dayton ranks second in the nation in shots per game, third in scoring offense, fifth in shots on goal, and seventh in goal differential. The Flyers are also top 30 in assists, corner kicks, points, and total goals.
Individually,
Joseph Melto Quiah is fourth in the country in shots per game while
Martin Bakken is 33rd in total goals and 56th in points.
BAKKEN, ARMSTRONG PICK UP A-10 HONORS
The Flyers earned two more A-10 weekly accolades on Oct. 8 with
Martin Bakken being named A-10 Co-Offensive Player of the Week for the second time while teammate
Andrew Armstrong was named A-10 Rookie of the Week.

The Flyers will host No. 4 West Virginia Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. at Baujan Field in the final non-conference game.
