Bakken, Reda Honored As CollegeAdvantage Student-Athletes Of The Week

Dayton Student-Athletes Will Be Recognized Throughout the School Year

DAYTON - University of Dayton men's soccer sophomore Martin Bakken and women's soccer junior Batoul Reda have been named the Ohio's CollegeAdvantage Student-Athletes of the Week. These awards are for contests held Oct. 14-20.

Bakken, a native of Baerum, Norway, recorded five points with a goal and three assists in Dayton's wins over No. 1 West Virginia and on the road at St. Bonaventure Saturday. The striker scored the game-winning goal and added two assists against the top-ranked Mountaineers before adding an assist on the game-winning goal against the Bonnies. He was named the A-10's Offensive Player of the Week on Monday for his efforts.

Reda recorded her eighth and ninth shutout wins of the season last week, including her fifth in Atlantic 10 Conference play, as Dayton's primary goalkeeper. The Dearborn, Mich., native worked all 180 minutes between the posts this week, extending her consecutive minutes-played streak to 2,270 minutes. Reda collected a total of five saves to zero goals against as the Flyers maintain sole possession of first place in A-10 standings. She picked up her first A-10 Defensive Player of the Week honor this season on Monday.
