DAYTON – The No. 20-ranked Dayton volleyball team travels to the Bronx to take on Fordham in a pair of matches this weekend, Oct. 25 and 26, looking to extend its current 12-match winning streak at Rose Hill Gymnasium.

The Flyers and Rams play at 6 p.m. on Friday and at 12 p.m. on Saturday, with both matches broadcast on ESPN+.
 
UD in the AVCA Polls - Movin' on up (Again)
The Flyers have been ranked in every American Volleyball Coaches Assocation (AVCA) poll of the 2024 season, coming in at No. 20 in the most recent rankings. Dayton was at No. 21 last poll after spending time at No. 22 and No. 24 in the other weeks.
 
UD has been ranked in the AVCA Weekly Poll for 21 consecutive weeks dating back to the 2023 campaign. This ties the program record set in the 2009, 2010 and 2011 seasons when the Flyers went 21 straight weeks in the Top 25.
 
Almodovar Chases History
Redshirt senior Lexie Almodovar has 1,773 kills in her career, trailing Dayton Hall of Famer and UDVB all-time kill leader Faye Barhorst (1,796; 2003-06) by 23 kills. Almodovar has averaged a career-best 4.66 kills/set this season.
 
Another Weekly Winner
Redshirt senior Lexie Almodovar was named the A-10 Player of the Week on Monday after averaging 5.00 kills/set and hitting .403.
 
The Flyelrs have won five weekly honors from the Atlantic 10 thus far this season, winning Player of the Week four times and Defensive Player of the Week once.
 
Junior Liana Sarkissian won her first career Player of the Week honor on Sept. 16, and redshirt senior Lexie Almodovar added her first POW of the season a week later on Sept. 23. Brooke Smith won the honor on Oct. 8, and Almodovar notched her second of the season on Oct. 21.
 
Junior Karissa Kaminski earned the Flyers' first Defensive Player of the Week honor of the season on Sept. 30.

Dayton has climbed to No. 11 in the most recent RPI Ranking
 
The Flyers' non-conference slate included Top 50 matches against Illinois (21), Marquette (28), Wright State (41), UNI (46), as well as Top 100 opponents FGCU (54), USF (60), and Bowling Green (66). While George Washington (122), VCU (125), Loyola Chicago (144), and Duquesne (174) round out the rankings in the A-10.
 
Sarkissian Keeps Killing It
Junior Liana Sarkissian is having the best season of her career, already surpassing her career-highs for for total kills, service aces, digs and blocks in a season.
 
The Greenwich, Conn. native leads the Atlantic 10 in hitting percentage at .395, has 2.53 kills/set and has also scored 3.36 points/set. Sarkissian has also set new career-highs in kills in a match (15 at FGCU, 9/20) and total blocks (7 vs. George Washington, 10/19).
 
Nobody Better!
Dayton leads the Atlantic 10 in four categories this season, including points/set (18.31), hitting percentage (.301), kills/set (13.91), and opponent hitting percentage (.148).
 
Redshirt senior Lexie Almodovar is the league's top offensive player in terms of points/set (5.25) and kills/set (4.66), while senior Alyssa Miller leads the league in assists/set (10.90). Junior middle blocker Liana Sarkissian (.395) and redshirt senior middle Alayna Yates (.326) are also No. 1 and 4 in hitting percentage. Sarkissian also ranks fourth in blocks/set (1.11) and junior Karissa Kaminski is third in the A-10 in digs/set (4.04).
 
Streaking!
Dayton has won 29 consecutive regular-season Atlantic 10 matches dating back to the 2022 campaign after opening the 2024 conference campaign with sweeps over Rhode Island, VCU, Loyola Chicago and George Washington, and winning its midweek match at Duquesne.
 
Scouting Fordham
Fordham has an overall record of 6-12 overall and 2-7 in the Atlantic 10. Dayton has won 43 consecutive matches over the Rams, a streak dating back to the 1997 season.
 
The Rams lead the Atlantic 10 in digs per set as a team, putting up 15.37. Graduate student outside hitter Whitley Moody is second in the A-10 in kills/set at 3.85 and is third in points/set at 4.43.
