Sunday Showdown With Saint Louis For Women's Soccer

Dayton will Secure Regular Season Title with Win

DAYTON - The University of Dayton women's soccer team is hosting Saint Louis Sunday in a winner-take-all battle for the 2024 Atlantic 10 regular season title. The match will get underway Oct. 27 at 1:30 p.m. at Baujan Field and admission is free.

ABOUT DAYTON
Dayton (13-3-1, 7-1-1 A-10) is coming off a 2-2 draw at Fordham on Thursday and the Flyers are now in second place in league standings, one point behind Saint Louis. A win will earn Dayton its 12 A-10 regular season crown, its first since 2013. UD's offense is led by senior Noel Blain with 23 points on nine goals and five assists while freshman Laney Smith has netted eight goals and two Flyers have dished out a team-best six assists. Between the posts for Dayton, junior Batoul Reda has worked all 1,530 minutes this season and she carries a 1.00 GAA with 46 saves and nine shutout wins.

SCOUTING SAINT LOUIS
Saint Louis (11-1-5, 7-0-2) enters Sunday's match enjoying a 12-game unbeaten streak after downing George Mason 5-0 on Thursday. The Billikens are looking to win their sixth A-10 regular-season championship in the past seven seasons. Emily Gaebe leads Saint Louis with 12 goals and 28 points while Gaebe and Katie Houck have a team-best with four assists apiece. Emily Percelli is the Billikens primary goalkeeper and holds a 0.58 GAA and has collected 56 saves on the season.

SERIES STUFF
Saint Louis Leads, 13-10-4
The Flyers and Billikens played to a 1-1 draw in last season's matchup on Sept. 24, 2023, snapped SLU's 11-game winning streak in the series. The last time Dayton defeated Saint Louis was Nov. 3, 2016, a 3-0 win in the first round of the A-10 Championship hosted by Rhode Island.

LAST TIME OUT
Dayton earned a 2-2 draw at Fordham Thursday night in the Flyers' final regular-season road game of the season. The tie extended UD's unbeaten streak to eight matches. As a team, Dayton doubled up Fordham in the shots category 19-8 as senior Noel Blain and freshman Laney Smith each got off a match-high five shots.

UP NEXT
As one of the top four seeds heading into the 2024 Atlantic 10 Championship, Dayton will host a first-round game on Friday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. The tournament bracket will be released Sunday evening.
