DAYTON - The University of Dayton women's soccer team has advanced to the semifinals of the 2024 Atlantic 10 Championship with its 1-0 win over #7 VCU at home Friday night. Freshman
Laney Smith scored the game-winner for the Flyers, her team-high-tying ninth goal of the season, in the 11' to secure the victory.
Dayton improves to 14-3-2 on the season and advances to the A-10 Tourney semifinal round for the fifth-consecutive season. VCU closes out 2024 with a 4-9-5 overall mark.

UP NEXT
As at least the second-highest remaining seed, Dayton will host its semifinal match Wednesday, Nov. 6. The Flyers' opponent will be determined tomorrow following the completion of the second two quarterfinal matches. Kickoff will be 7 p.m. at Baujan Field.
