Women's Basketball Hosts Providence Thursday At UD Arena

The Flyers and Friars Tip-Off At 7 p.m.

DAYTON - The University of Dayton women's basketball team will host Providence College Thursday, Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. at UD Arena.

SCOUTING THE FLYERS
Dayton is back on the winning path after a home victory over Tennessee St. Sunday and sits at 3-1 on the season. The Flyers are undefeated at home this year, 3-0, and only has one loss to No. 16 Duke overall.

Head coach Tamika Williams-Jeter is in her third season in charge of her hometown Flyers, coming over after a year at Wittenberg. She has assistant coaching stops at Kansas, Kentucky, Penn State, and Ohio State.

The Flyers are averaging 69.8 points per game while holding opponents to 64.0 points each outing. Dayton is shooting 42.4 percent overall, 28.9 percent from three-point range, and 66.3 percent from the free throw line. UD benefits from +4.3 rebounding and +0.3 turnover margins.

Leading the way for the Flyers is senior Ivy Wolf with 17.3 points and 4.8 rebounds per game while graduate transfer Rikki Harris is contributing 8.3 points and 4.8 boards and senior Arianna Smith is chipping in 7.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per outing.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
PROVIDENCE

Providence comes to Dayton with a 2-2 record on the year and 1-1 road mark. The Friars are coming off a tough loss at Boston College Sunday and have dropped two of their last three.

Head coach Erin Batth is in her second season at the helm of the Friars and has 18 years of NCAA Division I coaching experience.

As a team, Providence is scoring 62.8 points each outing and allowing just 57.3 points to opposing squads. The Friars are shooting 40.7 percent from the field, 34.5 percent from behind the arc, and 62.9 percent from the charity stripe. Providence has a +9.8 rebounding margin at 41.0 per game.

Grace Efosa leads the offense with 14.3 points per game and is shooting 57.5 percent from the floor. Brynn Farrell and Olivia Olsen are both adding 9.0 points each contest with Olsen recording a team-high 10.5 rebounds per game as well.

SERIES HISTORY
The Flyers and Friars are meeting for the fourth time in program history Thursday with Dayton holding a 2-1 series advantage. The last meeting was a 69-60 win for Providence however, at home on Nov. 7, 2022.

FLYERS PICKED 11TH IN PRESEASON POLL
Dayton was picked to finish 11th in the 2024-25 Atlantic 10 preseason poll with 84 points. The Flyers were picked ahead of George Washington, Massachusetts, St. Bonaventure, and La Salle. Richmond was chosen as the preseason favorites, followed by Saint Joseph's, George Mason, and Davidson.

PREPPING FOR A-10 PLAY
Dayton's non-conference schedule features eight home games, one true road game, and two neutral site games. Besides hosting the likes of Providence and Vanderbilt, UD traveled to No. 16 Duke on Nov. 14 and will participate in the Music City Classic in Nashville, Tenn.

LEADING THE PACK
Ivy Wolf leads the A-10 and ranks 12th in the country in three pointers and is 24th in three point attempts.

UP NEXT
Dayton travels south to Nashville next week for the Music City Classic, facing Maryland Eastern Shore on Monday, Nov. 25 and South Dakota on Tuesday, Nov. 26. Both games are at 12 p.m. ET.
