DAYTON - The University of Dayton baseball team split Sunday's doubleheader against Lindenwood at Woerner Field at AES Ohio Stadium, winning game one 6-3, but falling in dramatic fashion in the nightcap, 6-5.
The day's first game included an offensive showcase from graduate student
Nolan Watson, who went 3-for-4 with a single, double, and triple. It's the first three-hit game for the Flyers this season and Watson's second career triple.
Game two saw sophomore
Alejandro Cazorla and freshman
Ryan MacDougall hit the FlyBoys' first and second home runs of the season, but it proved to not be enough fire power to push UD to victory.
GAME ONE
Dayton 6, Lindenwood 3
Lindenwood built an early 3-0 lead through the first three innings, but the Flyers answered by scoring in three consecutive innings and held Lindenwood scoreless for the remainder of the game.
Junior
David Pedanou got the Flyers on the scoreboard with a two-out, RBI single in the bottom of the third. In the following inning, MacDougall drove in two runs with a bases loaded knock to right field, and Cazorla put the FlyBoys ahead for good with a sacrifice fly a batter later.
Watson came to the plate in the fifth inning and tripled in a run, and junior
Mason Dobie drove home Watson on a fielder's choice.
Graduate student
Anthony Hattrup anchored Dayton's pitching staff in the first game, tossing 3.1 scoreless innings and earning the win, while senior
Nick Wissman secured his second save of the year.

MacDougall's first collegiate home run in the fourth inning gave the FlyBoys the lead once again, and in the bottom of the seventh UD extended its advantage courtesy of sophomore
