INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The University of Dayton women's tennis team blanked IUPUI, 4-0, for its first victory of the spring season Saturday night at the West Indy Racquet Club.
Taking on a short-handed Jaguars squad, the Flyers secured the early lead in doubles when
Erica Wojcikiewicz and
Laura Greb won No. 2 doubles, 6-3.
Jordan Mitchell and
Neena Katauskas won by default at No. 3, while
Marra Bruce and
Elizabeth Hamilton were leading 5-2 when the point was clinched.
On the singles side, Bruce took her first victory as UD's No. 1 by a 6-0, 6-4 final. Mitchell won convincingly at No. 5, 6-1, 6-0, and the final point was credited to
Grace Murphy, who won by default at No. 6.
Katauskas, Hamilton and Greb were each leading in their respective matches when the Flyers clinched the point.
