BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The University of Dayton softball team scored a total of 24 runs over two wins on the second day of the 2024 Indiana Invite. Dayton downed Oakland, 10-1, in six innings followed by a 14-11 win over IUPUI in the nightcap.

Dayton improves to 10-6 on the season while Oakland moved to 6-6 and IUPUI is now 4-19.

KEY STAT
Freshman Kirnan Bailey had a day at the plate, going 5-for-7 with four runs scored, two walks and one RBI

Dayton 10, Oakland 1 (6)
CG - sophomore Izzy Kemp pitched her fifth complete game of the season, recording six strikeouts
SB - junior Emma Schutter collected two stolen bases
2 - Bailey was 2-for-3 at the plate with two runs scored
2 - graduate students Emily Daniel and Nicolette Papavasiliou each contributed two RBI
2 - Schutter and junior Maddie Kapsimalis drew two walks apiece

Dayton 14, IUPUI 11
H - nine different Flyers recorded a hit in the game, including Bailey with three hits - her fourth multi-hit game of the season
3 - Papavasiliou equaled her career high of three RBI
3 - Daniel scored a career-high three runs, one of five Flyers to score multiple runs

UP NEXT
Dayton will close out play at the Indiana Invite with games against Oakland and host Indiana tomorrow. The Flyers and Golden Grizzlies will square off at 9:30 a.m. followed by a 3 p.m. matchup against the Hoosiers.
