MIAMISBURG, Ohio - The University of Dayton men's tennis team coasted to a victory over Xavier on Sunday afternoon, topping the Musketeers 6-1 at the South Regency Tennis Center.
UD started the day with a clean sweep in doubles, winning all three spots by a 6-2 final.
Connor Bruce and
Matt DeMarco won at No. 1,
Eric Suk and
Mikkel Zinder won at No. 2, and
Ronit Hiryur and
Kyle McNally won at No. 3.
Singles saw the Flyers win at all but one spot, as Bruce won at No. 1, 6-4, 6-1, and DeMarco won at No. 2, 6-0, 6-1. McNally picked up the win at No. 3, 7-5, 6-0, and fellow freshman
Mikkel Zinder won at No. 4, 7-6 (7), 6-2. Hiryur handled his match at No. 6, 6-3, 6-2.
Dayton is not back in action until it heads to the Grand Canyon State to play a pair of matches at the end of March. The Flyers take on Grand Canyon University on March 26 and Norther Arizona University on March 28.
