COLUMBUS, Ohio - The University of Dayton softball team was not able to overcome an early Ohio State lead Wednesday, falling to the Buckeyes, 6-2, at Buckeye Field. Freshman
Deirdre Flaherty's two-RBI single to the right-field fence plated two runs for the Flyers in the sixth.
Dayton is now an even 13-13 on the season while Ohio State improves to 18-10 overall.

Maddie Kapsimalis batted her team-best sixth double of the season, extending her reached-base streak to 17 games (tied for fourth-longest streak in the nation)

Sarah Bailitz struck out three of the seven batters she faced over 2.0 innings of relief in the circle
2 - Flaherty recorded two RBI, her third multi-RBI game of the season

UP NEXT
Dayton will host its second Atlantic 10 Conference series in as many weekends when it welcomes Loyola Chicago to town on Friday. The Flyers and Ramblers are set for a single game March 29 beginning at 4 p.m. followed by a Saturday doubleheader at 12 p.m. All games will be played at UD Softball Stadium and admission is free.
