DAYTON – The University of Dayton baseball team plated five runs in the fourth inning and got a strong start from fifth-year
Ryan Steinhauer to propel the Flyers to a 6-2 victory over in-state foe Toledo on Wednesday afternoon at Woerner Field at AES Ohio Stadium.

The FlyBoys sent 11 men to the plate in the fourth, scattering six singles and adding a pair of walks to drive in their five runs. Every player in the UD lineup reached base in the game, with senior
Paxton Tomaini leading the way with a 1-for-2 performance while also reaching twice via walk.

Fifth-year starter
Ryan Steinhauer pitched into the seventh, striking out six and allowing two runs on four hits. It was the longest outing for the left-hander since the 2022 campaign when he threw a nine-inning complete game against Fordham.
Junior newcomer
Michael Fortes pitched the final 1.2 to earn his first career save.
