BRONX, N.Y. - The University of Dayton softball team posted its second-consecutive shutout at Fordham Sunday afternoon with a 5-0 win over the Rams. With the 2-1 series win, Dayton moves into sole possession of third place in Atlantic 10 Conference standings.
Dayton closes out a five-game week with a 20-16 overall record and a 10-4 mark in conference games while Fordham closes the weekend with a 19-21-1 season mark and 9-6 league record.

Maddie Kapsimalis knocked out her sixth home run of the season, a two-run homer in the third, and extended her reached-base streak to 28 games

Sarah Bailitz worked 6.0 scoreless innings for the Flyers in the circle, her second 6.0-inning game of the week, for her fourth combined shutout of the year
2 - junior
Emma Schutter was one of two Flyers with two hits on the day, her 10th multi-hit game of the season

UP NEXT
Dayton will kick off an 11-game homestand on Tuesday with a single game against Northern Kentucky at UD Softball Stadium. First pitch between the Flyers and Norse will be 3:05 p.m. and admission is free. The game will be available to follow via live stats and video stream on ESPN+.
