Softball Sets New Single-Season Stolen Bases Record In 4-1 Win Over Rhode Island

Flyers Have 91 Stolen Bases on the Season

DAYTON - The University of Dayton softball team picked up the 2-1 Atlantic 10 series win over Rhode Island Sunday with its 4-1 victory against the Rams. With three stolen bases in the game, the Flyers have now set a new single-season program record with 91 stolen bases. Prior to the game, seven departing team members were recognized during a Senior Day ceremony.

Dayton improves to 28-18 on the season and 17-6 in league games while Rhode Island moves to 14-35 overall and 9-14 in conference action.

KEY STATS
SB - with her stolen base in the sixth inning, graduate student Emily Daniel has a career-high 29 SBs on the season
11 - three Flyer pitchers combined for 11 Ram strikeouts in the game
11 - as a team, Dayton tallied a total of 11 hits with eight different players recording a hit
2 - junior Emma Schutter collected two RBI, her third multi-RBI game of the season
Win - Izzy Kemp (10-5). Loss - Ashley Hibbard (6-6). Save - Haven Dwyer (2).

UP NEXT
The 2024 regular season will come to a close next weekend with a three-game series at Saint Louis in a battle for the 2024 A-10 regular-season title. The Flyers and Billikens will play two games Saturday, May 4, followed by a single game on Sunday at Billikens Sport Center. Play will get underway at 1 p.m. ET/12 p.m. CT both days.
