UMass Slips Past Softball, 6-5, In 8th Inning Of Sunday Series Finale

Three Flyers Posted Multi-Hit Games in Extra-Innings Battle

AMHERST, Mass. - The University of Dayton softball team closed out its three-game series at Massachusetts with a 6-5, eight-inning loss to the Minutewomen Sunday afternoon. The Flyers claimed a 2-1 Atlantic 10 series win on the weekend after two wins at Sortino Field on Saturday.

Dayton moves to 18-14 on the season and 8-4 in A-10 games while Massachusetts is now 11-23 overall and 7-5 in league action.

KEY STATS
SB - five different Flyers recorded a stolen base in the game
6 - junior right-handed pitcher Haven Dwyer equaled her career high with six strikeouts
2 - four Flyers tallied two hits apiece, including junior Emma Schutter who also scored two runs
2 - freshman Kirnan Bailey brought across two RBI, her first career multi-RBI game
Win - N. Horton (4-8). Loss - Dwyer (6-4). Save - None.
