DAYTON - The University of Dayton women's soccer team is set to open the Atlantic 10 portion of its schedule Thursday at Loyola Chicago. The Flyers and Ramblers will square off at LUC's Loyola Soccer Park Sept. 19 at 8 p.m. ET.

ABOUT DAYTON
Dayton (6-2, 0-0 A-10) closed out the non-conference portion of its schedule last Thursday with a 5-1 win over visiting Wright State and the Flyers are currently enjoying a three-match winning streak. As a team, Dayton ranks 11th nationally with 25 total goals and the team's scoring effort is led by senior Noel Blain and freshman Liv Grenda with five goals (4th A-10) apiece. Graduate student Diana Benigno has dished out five assists (2nd A-10, 13th NCAA) and Blain leads the team with 13 points (6th A-10). Dayton's starting goalkeeper junior Batoul Reda (6-2) has played 1,550 consecutive minutes dating back to Sept. 24, 2023 and is the only Flyer to log all 720 minutes this season.

SCOUTING LOYOLA CHICAGO
Loyola Chicago (5-2-1, 0-0 A-10) picked up a 1-0 home win over Eastern Michigan Sunday and the Ramblers have won three of their last four matches heading into the conference opener. Taylor Harrison and Emily Rossi have scored three goals each while Zoe Hevey is the Ramblers' assist leader with three (7th A-10). Between the posts, Allison Deardorff has played all 720 minutes with 31 saves and a 0.75 GAA (2nd A-10).

SERIES STUFF
Dayton Leads, 8-0-0
Dayton and Loyola Chicago first met in 1992 and have played eight matches in the series. The Ramblers have yet to score a goal against the Flyers. UD claimed the 2-0 win over LUC at home on Oct. 15, 2023.

LAST TIME OUT
Five different Flyers netted a goal in Dayton's 5-1 win over visiting Wright State on Thursday, Sept. 12, Dayton's sixth victory of the season. Two players recorded both a goal and an assist for the contest in graduate student Diana Benigno and junior Kyra Karfonta while freshman Laney Smith tallied a match-high-tying three shots, all three on target and one that scored her third goal of the season.

• Eric Golz is in his eighth season as head coach of the Flyers in 2024. His record at Dayton is 78-47-16 (.610) and his career win-loss mark sits at 98-63-21 (.596) over a total of 10 seasons. Golz has tallied the program's second-most wins, behind Mike Tucker who had 313 wins over 22 seasons (1995-2016) at Dayton.
• Freshman Liv Grenda claimed the Atlantic 10's first Rookie of the Week honor on Aug. 19 after scoring her first collegiate goal in Dayton's 2-1 win at Loyola Maryland on opening day.
