FORT MYERS, Fla. – The No. 24-ranked University of Dayton volleyball team finished off a strong weekend FGCU Homewood Suites Fort Myers Tournament with a sweep of South Florida (25-20, 25-17, 25-23) at the Alico Center.
 
Redshirt senior Lexie Almodovar and senior Alyssa Miller were named to the All-Tournament Team.
 
The win put a wrap on the non-conference schedule for the Flyers (10-1), who host Rhode Island next weekend to kick off Atlantic 10 action.

.305 – attack percentage for the Flyers, including a .500 mark in the second
.182 – attack percentage for USF
15 – kills for Lexie Almodovar, who has 10 consecutive matches with double-digit kills
14 – digs for junior Karissa Kaminski, the only player to reach double-figures in the match
10.5 – total points for junior Liana Sarkissian, who had seven kills, five block assists and an ace.
8 – service aces for UD, including three from Alyssa Miller
7 – blocks for the Flyers, led by Liana Sarkissian who had five total

The Flyers return to the friendly confines of the Frericks Center to begin Atlantic 10 play this weekend, taking on Rhode Island on Friday, Sept. 27 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 28 at 2 p.m.
