Women's Basketball Finishes Homestand Vs La Salle Saturday

The Flyers and Explorers Tip-Off At 1 p.m. In A-10 Action

DAYTON - The University of Dayton women's basketball team finishes up the home stretch on Saturday, Jan. 11 against La Salle University at UD Arena.

SCOUTING THE FLYERS
Dayton moved up to a tie for second in the Atlantic 10 standings with a 3-1 record in conference play and a three-game winning streak. The Flyers are 9-6 overall and 8-2 at home this season.

Head coach Tamika Williams-Jeter is in her third season in charge of her hometown Flyers, coming over after a year at Wittenberg. She has assistant coaching stops at Kansas, Kentucky, Penn State, and Ohio State.

The Flyers are averaging 64.7 points per game and holding opponents to 61.1 points each contest. Dayton is shooting 41.5 percent overall, 31.2 percent from three point range, and 72.0 percent from the free throw line. UD benefits from a +3.9 rebounding margin as well.

Leading the way for the Flyers are seniors Ivy Wolf with 17.7 points per game and Arianna Smith with 10.2 points and 8.7 rebounds per game. Wolf ranks third in the A-10 in scoring and second in three pointers while Smith is fifth in rebounds per game.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
LA SALLE

La Salle comes to UD Arena with a 7-10 record on the season and 1-3 A-10 record. The Explorers are amidst a four-game losing skid and are 2-5 on the road this year.

Head coach Mountain MacGillivray is in his sixth season at the helm of La Salle.

As a team, the Explorers are averaging just 59.5 points each outing and giving up 68.1 points to opposing squads. La Salle is shooting 36.4 percent from the field, 24.7 percent from behind the arc, and 65.2 percent from the charity stripe.

Ashleigh Connor leads the team with both 11.7 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. Aryssa Macktoon is contributing 10.1 points each outing while Joan Quinn has a team-high 17 made threes.

SERIES HISTORY
The Flyers and Explorers are meeting for the 45th time in program history. Dayton holds a 28-16 series advantage and has won nine in a row, including last year's meeting 72-69 in overtime in Philadelphia.
