ZIONSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Dayton men's tennis kicked off its three-match stretch in the Hoosier State by taking down Eastern Illinois 5-2 on Friday night at the Pearson Tennis Club.

UD jumped ahead by taking the doubles point, winning with the No. 1 combo of
Mikkel Zinder and
Eric Suk, and also taking victory at No. 2 with
Andreas Nygaard and
Sturle Skigelstrand. The Flyers won No. 1, 6-3, and clinched the point with a win at No. 2 by the same score.

Zinder and Skigelstrand continued their winning ways on the singles side, as Zinder won handedly at No. 1, 6-0, 6-3, and Skigelstrand was victorious at No. 4, 6-1, 6-3.

The freshman duo of
Brady Hussey and
Kaia Mendibe came up big for Dayton at No. 5 and No. 6, respectively, winning by scores of 6-2, 7-5 and 6-3, 6-0.

UP NEXT
Dayton remains in central Indiana for the weekend, traveling to Muncie to take on Ball State on Saturday at 4 p.m., and then turning around to take on IU Indy at the West Indy Racquet Club at 11 a.m.
