DAYTON – The University of Dayton volleyball shut down George Mason with another three-set win (25-20, 27-25, 25-21).
Dayton was able to stay out in front of George Mason early in the set, only ever trailing the Patriots 3-2. The Flyers were up 24-22 in the second set, but not before Mason rallied back to earn its only set-point of the match at 25-24. A kill by Kamryn Hunt leveled the set with a block and a kill by Liana Sarkissian extended Dayton's lead in the match.
Down one at 9-8, UD went on a tear for an eight-point run in the third set. Leading 24-18, the Patriots had a three-point run to narrow Dayton's lead, but a kill by Hunt ended the match.
